Embroideries - household textiles from Hungarian folk houses(Book)
This book presents a selection of embroidered household textiles from the collection of the Hungarian Museum of Ethnography in Budapest. The textiles represent the varied regional styles of ornamentation found in Hungary and the Hungarian ethnic regions of the Carpathian Basin, especially Transsylvania. The majority of items pictured were embroidered in the 19th century, and represent a unique look into early home decoration traditions of folk houses.
The book is bilingual: Hungarian and German, with a short introduction, 4 pages with clear drawings of the embroidery stitches used on the pictured linens, and 92 color photographs of embroidery pieces.
Softcover, 92 pages, published in 2006 in Hungary.
